Suspension of all soccer activities through April 30, 2020

March 30, 2020

We hope all of you and your families are healthy and safe as we all try to navigate these troubled times. Please be sure to practice good physical distancing (the new preferred term), carefully wash your hands and face whenever possible while out and when you return home, and be very careful to avoid crowds. Following these simple steps now will make a big difference in the near future as we all work together to reduce the transmission of the coronavirus outbreak.

As you know, we took the step of suspending all soccer activities in our program, originally through Easter. In consideration of the latest guidance from the federal government, we are extending that suspension through April 30. We believe this is a very important time in our battle to contain the spread of the coronavirus, and are convinced that a more rigorous approach now will make a big difference. We will review medical and public health guidance later in April and provide updates at that time. While we all hope to return to play as soon as possible, the health and safety of our players, parents, referees and team staff are our number one priority.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of RPB Soccer, we wish all of you good health and a speedy return to normalcy.

"The Royal Palm Beach Soccer Program suspended all soccer activities minutes after the fysa recommendation was issued. Regardless of your thoughts or opinions regarding COVID-19, the bottom line is that all clubs have a responsibility to the parents and kids of their organizations. Professional athletes, major universities, secondary schools and even our local governments have all suspended activities to minimize mass gatherings to prevent the spread of this "unknown and unfamiliar" virus. Its not up to individuals or a few clubs to make independent and risky decisions that may have a negative affect on its members and those of the community. We thank those in charge at RPB Soccer for acting quickly and responsibly for all of us and our kids."
